When she was young, she gave little thought to her future. She rarely imagined there would be a time when life, as she had become accustomed to, would change, and eventually end. So, she drifted from one day to the next, not making plans and not seeking direction. Lately, however, she has been thinking of the finite in an otherwise infinite universe. She realizes that she is the finite and God is the infinite. Her time in the realm of humanity is short and growing shorter with every passing day. It is quite possible that she has more time behind her than she has ahead of her. Thus, she must be more protective and deliberate with this elusive sense of what we all think is time enough to live, learn and love.
There will be no more wandering and meandering through the days. She is here for a purpose and there is work to do. She will no longer give her time to those who will waste it with indecision and lack of commitment. She is present in the lives of the people she loves and reserves her precious commodity of time for those who value and appreciate her life and love. She will no longer fight useless battles with anyone who is not part of the specific work God has given her this gift of time to accomplish. Whereas she once allowed insensitive individuals to write chapters about themselves in her story, she is now taking her pen and book away and henceforth reserving this honor for those who have a valuable contribution to make to the work God is creating in and through them as a collective group of like-minded disciples of Christ.
This is her new present and future. She is done with the past. The world progressed before her entry and will continue to progress long after her exit. She only has the time and space God has reserved for her to accomplish His work, and with a renewed sense of His being, she will proceed accordingly. Amen.
